SYSI President's Message to Membership

To all members of the Saskatoon Youth Soccer (SYSI) family.
The SYSI Board of Directors recent decision to mandate full proof of vaccination for all players age 18 or older and all team personnel announced on Sept 29th was put in place after much deliberation. The decisions were based on guidelines provided by the provincial government, the Saskatchewan Health Authority, our provincial governing body, the Business Response Team and much discussion with our Zone Presidents. However, I encourage us all to remain respectful to each other as we navigate through this together.
- Thank you to everyone that communicates with our office staff and/or board members with understanding and courtesy. Thank you for your feedback, and for expressing your views in a respectful manner.
- As a reminder, any verbal and/or written abuse in any form is not acceptable, and will not be tolerated within our organisation. Please be mindful that these actions will be escalated to the appropriate authorities.
- The Saskatoon Youth Soccer board of directors in conjunction with its member organisations make decisions, and the office staff acts on these board decisions. The SYSI office staff are not the ones making decisions on restrictions, refund policies, discipline guidelines, etc.
- Constructive feedback from our members is always appreciated. We want to hear thoughts and comments from you so, we can continue making our league the best place for our youth to play soccer.
- Please be aware members of the SYSI Board of Directors, members of your Zone Board of Directors, and Community Association Soccer Coordinators are all volunteers, who over the last 19 months have dedicated countless hours of their time to ensuring our organisation provides the safest environment for all its young players from the ages of 4 to 19.
- I encourage all to remember that we are all ultimately on the same team that wants a fun and safe league to play the game we love during this pandemic. Please treat each other respectfully, and know that your board and office staff continue to work tirelessly to provide an amazing environment for all to play the beautiful game.
